GRE in History

Exam type:
GRE: 220 multiple choice questions
Typical credit: 3 - 30 units

If you are interested in taking this examination check first with the Educational Testing Service for the latest Bulletin and test description.
As of this post, they are free.

A more detailed study guide to the GRE in history will be available on this site later this year. Periodically, however, we will add relevant links

However you can start by going through the CLEP American History I study guide, the CLEP American History 2 study guide and the CLEP Western Civilization I study guide, and CLEP Western Civilization II study guide following the links, and taking all the practice exams. This process, which can take as long as 200 hours, will give you a firm grounding in history.

$TIP: Check yard sales, used book stores and thrift shops for books of readings in history so you can build an inexpensive library.

Remember to record each site you visit in your diary

We will recommend additional sites later this year.
